New Found Friends... (WARNING: Long post, this is especially made for my classmates in the short course i attended)

Most of the time, friends who are very close to my heart tend to leave. Because of our profession, that's the reality that I have to accept. Can't blame them for leaving, opportunity knocks best for them outside Philippines. When my best friend left for London, we were crying buckets of tears, of course after a while, we've learned to deal with the situation that she has to follow her dreams. As for me, I have another story why I opted to stay here. After a few years, more and more of my friends were leaving. I got used to the idea but I will never get use to the pain it brings whenever someone has to leave.

Three years of being a Stay-At-Home-Mom, I missed a lot of things. I miss going out on a regular basis. Don't get me wrong, I don't have a single regret, I love my daughter so much and I am happy each and every single day I spend with her. But of course, I sometimes think I could use some break, some "ME" time to keep my sanity. And in doing so, It has to be something that I enjoy the most (well, aside from singin,hehe), what else could it be but cooking! Hubby was generous enough to enroll me to a short course in culinary and I glad I enrolled in the second batch for this year. Not only that I've learned so much but I also gained some new friends.

Our class was a complete package, different personalities but we surely have one thing in common, that is to enjoy whatever it is we were doing. During the first few sessions, I thought it'll just be the typical class and since it was just a short course, it never entered my mind that we will still keep in touch after the course has ended. It all started with chilling out on Saturdays after class, another session came the next week and so it goes on and on. We even had our bonding session one holiday, and guess what I've found out, they love to sing too!!! After those gimmicks outside class, we became much comfortable with each other and the kitchen was never dull again, we were all enjoying everything. Inside the kitchen, laughing was the common sound you can hear. Gladly we became close to the chefs, some of them even joined us on our bonding sessions. Modesty aside, most of them liked our batch, I'd like to qoute Chef A, "ok nga kayo eh, kasi masaya ang mabilis kayo kumilos, each week nag iimprove kayo, nakaktuwa" and from Chef G, "cool ng batch nyo, di pa kayo maaarte". From Chef E during our kitchen simulation, "Ang gagaling nyo ha, bakit ang gagaling nyo?":D Wohooo! Thanks to all our Chefs!

I don't know about them but during our graduation, I had mixed emotions, I was happy to finish the short course but I was a bit sad coz I knew I'll be missing the group, the noise inside the kitchen, the never ending laughs and funny moments.

Special mention to some people;

Bianca, you were the first person I smiled at, sat beside you in the lobby and that was the start. I hope we will continue to keep in touch, make this friendship grow into a deeper one. I can always be your older sister if you need someone to talk to. Thanks for all those nice chats during breaks. Can't wait to see that "W" moment of yours.;-)

Chona, my fellow mommy. Was is just a coincidence that we sat beside each other? I'll miss our wifey and mommy talks. Thank you for your effort of coming with us no matter how far you're from.

Ayen, another fellow mommy. Thank you for always appreciating my efforts. I'll definitely miss your sweet voice especially when you come back to your home town. We should meet before you go.

Kath bunso and Ria, stay being cool! I missed you guys during the last get together, hope to see you soon.

Yogi, thanks for being nice, you're my inspiration in getting rid of these excess baggage in my body, hehe. Goodluck on the new path that you're about to enter. Congratulations dear!

Tommee, still remember we walked together to get our cars on the first day? We we're both so quiet while walking, not talking to each other, who would've thought that we will end up as friends. Thank you! Thank you for being our happy pill! For making each day in class a memorable experience. Thank you for being the organizer of everything! You really deserve to be our EC. I must admit, without you, the group wouldn't be that close. Thank you for your efforts of keeping in touch. Don't get tired of organizing a get together ok? Glad to have found someone who almost has the same personality and outlook as mine, of course drinking is an exception to that. I hope you and mommy Z will finally be ok. I'm praying for that.

Chester, my first and original group mate, my fellow Sous Chef (haha!). Mr. Asian guy is really a very dependable group mate, thank you for making sure that I always have my stock (oh the advantage of being tall). Thanks for being available always when I needed to ask something about baking ingredients. (Free plugging, Try his cakes and pastry creations -Taste Temptations at Shopwise-libis and soon to open, Mall of Asia Branch) I've tried it myself, although I'm not a sweets lover, I definitely love it, walang bola yan ;-) On the other note, I hope E will finally see your worth more than being a best friend. I pray that your persistence will someday pay off. And before I forget, Happy Birthday!!!:D

Jay, thanks for being a cool lolo! (Joke) Seriously, I never thought you'd be one of those who will always be present during bonding moments, in fact you're one of the starters. Hehe! On the other note, what you did to Pat's car was really funny! silly joke but funny! It was your idea right?

Patrick, see, I didn't forget you. Oh well, what would I say about you? Can't think of anything really... Kidding aside, thanks for being a nice group mate, for being a gentleman (naks!), I won't forget when you waited for me to finish the cleaning in the kitchen before leaving and even offered to carry my bag, it was nice of you to do that considering you were not as close to me as you are to Bianx ;-). I hope you could join our get together and breathe the manila air for a change. Promise I'll keep you updated on the gimmicks so you could join us, that is if you're interested.

I miss you all guys, it's been a short period that we've spent together but it's definitely something that I will cherish. See you around!!!

Qoutable Qoutes by: The Princess Part 4

We were having lunch and she saw daddy having some soda, I don't usually allow her to drink that for obvious reasons, but on some occasions I do. She kept on looking at her dad's glass and then with a sweet smile she asked me;

"mommy, can I drink some soda? just a little only, please???"

I told her, "ok, but you can have it after you're done with your food"

a little later, after a few more bites...

"mom, can I drink my soda now? look, my tummy is so big na (she meant to say, she's full already)"

my reply was, "oh, if you're tummy is so big na, I will not let you drink the soda"

the smart princess then said, "but mommy my tummy is so small pa, look" :D

More International Cuisines

I didn't get the chance to post these right after learning about it so I'm posting it all now. I actually forgot to take photos of the Indian and Malaysian Cuisines, I didn't like their food but forgetting to take pictures of it was not my intention. Oh, and I also forgot to take pictures of the Mediterranean Cuisine, I enjoyed that lesson so much and I love the food as well. So here goes the rest of the cuisines we learned to cook.

Qoutable Qoutes by: The Princess Part 3

The princess rushed to the phone to answer a call from the guard house. When I asked who was the one who called, she replied;

"The guard, he's asking for my money, eh I don't have any money eh"

The guard was actually asking for her mommy. :D
